Here's a collection of various time-wasting endeavors for your entertainment

Hey, you should check out our new look at the Main Page.

We're building up the projects on the main page, and will soon transfer all these projects over there too.  In addition to the new look, there are many more features including RSS feeds and easier addition for your personal links so you can get straight to the data quickly.

Halloween Projects

BooBlink - Pseudorandom Multicolor LED flickering circuit, for spooky Halloween glow-globes.  Uses a few high-brightness LEDs and two logic chips to make candle or fiery effects, based on your circuit selection.

The Apothecary - 8 ingredient, LFSR based pseudorandom mixed-drink chooser, with a demonic theme.  A homemade capacitive touch sensor activates the logic circuits so the drink selection is decided by the user themselves.  Determines up to 255 disgusting shots for your party-goers to imbibe!

Engineering Projects

Flash Chip - UV Erasing EPROMs is annoying.  Simple, 29C512-based flash module for replacing EPROMs in that ancient tech.  Successfully used in ATARI 2600 cartridges, NES cartridges, and IGT S+ Slot machines.

Smart Tweezer Hack - How to add voltage-measurement capabilities to a cheap RCD "smart tweezer" DMM.

Wifi Finder Hack - A detailed story of breaking into a ZD1211-based Wifi Hotspot Finder

Miscellaneous Projects

SCRIMS - A Self-Contained Recirculating Infusion Mash system for beer brewing, built in an IGLOO cooler.  This project uses a hysteretic PIC Temp controller to drive a relay-coupled water heater element for pretty precise mash temperature profiles.
